This Privacy Policy explains what information TripsTranslator ("we", "us", or "our") processes when you use our bot and website (the "Service"), and how we handle it. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Process

• Twitch account & authorization data. When you authorize the bot, we receive basic Twitch account information (such as your username/user ID) and an access token used only to join and operate in your channel.
• Chat messages. While the bot is active in a channel, we process public chat messages in real time in order to translate them.
• Channel configuration. Settings you choose, such as your target language (!trlang), are stored so the bot behaves the way you configured it.
• Basic technical/operational data. We may process limited technical information (such as connection and error logs) to keep the Service running and diagnose problems.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide real-time translation and respond to bot commands.
• To apply your per-channel configuration.
• To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
• To enforce our Terms of Service and fair-usage rules.

3. Data Retention

• Chat messages are processed transiently and are not permanently stored. A message is translated and then discarded; we do not keep a lasting archive of your community's chat.
• Channel configuration (such as your chosen language) is retained only while the bot is connected to your channel and can be cleared by removing the bot with !trleave.
• Operational logs, if any, are kept only as long as reasonably needed to run and troubleshoot the Service.

4. AI Processing

Translations are generated using AI models run on privately operated infrastructure controlled by us. Chat content sent for translation is not shared with third-party commercial AI providers, and is not used to train external models. Message content is used only to produce the translation and is not retained afterward.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information where necessary to operate the Service, including:

• Twitch, as required to connect to and operate within your channel.
• Payment processors (such as PayPal or Stripe), if and when paid subscriptions are offered — they handle payment data directly under their own privacy policies. We do not store your full payment card details.
• Infrastructure and network providers used to host and deliver the Service.
• Legal compliance, where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the Service.

6. Viewers & Chatters

Chat in a channel is public on Twitch. When a broadcaster enables TripsTranslator, messages sent in that channel are translated in real time and then discarded as described above. We do not build profiles of individual chatters and do not retain their messages after translation.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission or processing is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

9. Your Choices

• You can remove the bot at any time with !trleave or by revoking its access in your Twitch connection settings, which ends our processing for your channel.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted and reflected by a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
